Gee, Tom, I never knew you got paddled like that! She would have been arrested these days. I remember Mrs. Athy. Seems that every time I saw her she was jerking some poor kid's arm and making angry faces at them. I remember that I was glad that I didn't have her as a teacher! Of course, she may have had some redeeming qualities. -Ken

Wow, Tom, that makes my blood boil! You were such a nice kid, I cannot imagine a teacher disliking you like that...Didn't you tell your parents? Now, my Mom could have taken care of that little problem for you.... Boy, she'd have shot you between the eyes with a bazooka if she had seen you stab me with that pencil, huh? BTW, (I learned that (BTW) from Ken while you were away) good to hear from you again, we've been missing you. Bon

Well after reading all these posts I do feel the need to contribute to this thread. In the first grade I has Mrs. Wallace. If ever there lived a meaner woman,I'd have a hard time believeing it was true. Mrs. Wallace had to be Khenis Khan reincarnated! In the second grade I had Miss Fielder, who later married Homer Duff and became known as Mrs. Duff. Had a daughter named Stacy, whom they named thier smorgasborads after, when Homer sold all the Duffs to some conglomeration or something like that. Now I'm sad to say Homer and Miss Fielder are divorced and I don't know if Duffs or Stacy's still exists. What, you may ask, does this have to do with elementary school? NOTHING! They are just the rantings of a madman!!! Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I bet ya'll missed me while I've been gone for the last month..................................... NOT

Hey, Connie! I have good memories of Mrs. Kent. Do you remember her singing, "Somewhere over the Rainbow"? Steve! You're back! I put out a post looking for ya. Where did you go to in MO? I remember Mrs. Wallace. One word. Scary! I had Mrs. Miller in first grade and Mrs.Coleman in second. Mrs. Miller was ok. No bad memories there. My brother had Mrs. Duff in 1962. He was hit by a car and killed that year. I remember her sobbing at his funeral. Very sad. Sorry to hear about her divorce. -Ken

Hi Steve. I have often wondered what happened to Homer Duff. Thanks for your story. I didn't realize that Stacys was named after his daughter. What is Homer doing now? Does he live in Florida? About how old is he?

( I know, I forgot to login)
Homer would be around 70ish. I use to babyset Stacy when I was in HS. I think there is a "Stacy's" still open in Wilmington, OH

Ken, I don't remember her singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Of course, my memory isn't that good, so what can you expect. I did like Mrs. Kent, though. Connie

Well, Connie, I'm surprised I remember the song. I believe it was the last day of school and she was getting a little weepy eyed. The song was a parting gift or so it would seem.
Did you have Mrs. Graham in 4th grade? Do you remember Danny Thomas? -Ken

Ken -- I remember Danny, one of those with the "celebrity" names. We had a Charlie Brown too and it seems like one other noteworthy name, but I can't remember it right now. Maybe I will remember it on a better day.

Kathy: I thought Charlie Brown was coming to the reunion but I missed him if he did. Danny and I were best buds for a time in Jr High. Then he moved away and I lost track of him. He sometimes sang at school assemblies. I don't know who the other "celebrity" name would have been. Hmmmm. -Ken

Hi Ken, Charlie Brown and his wife were at the reunion. They sat with The VonBargen's and Vicki Silvers. They were on the other side of the room from you, they sat next to the bar.
It seem to me that there was another "celebrity" name....was there a David "Davy" Crockett in high school? For some reason that comes to mind.

Yes Thelma there was a Davey Crockett. He lived across the street from me for awhile and we used to play together. Not sure what happened to him I think next time I am down at moms I will check out because his grandma still lives there I think.
And I used to be friends with Danny Thomas also Ken. Not sure where he went either.
And yes Charlie Brown was at the reunion talked with him there.
