Hi Bonnie, I did remember you as Bonnie Darlene, I think I have it on one of your pictures! I got in trouble almost everyday of school. I got my bottom swated the first day and it never stopped. I still like to talk a lot. Sometimes it still gets me in trouble!

Chuck, I think you might be right about Mr. Redman being the other 8th grade teacher,I think Smith may have taught 7th. I didn't have either one for home room!

I remember in eighth grade getting moved to the back of the class with the "boys". I was in heaven! I couldn't see the board, but I didn't care - I was with the "boys"! Arnold Baker sat in front of me, and I remember how nice he was to me (just as a friend). Once I was called on to read, and Mr. Gay asked me to speak up. I did, but he still couldn't hear me. So, I spoke louder, but he still couldn't hear me. He asked me again to speak up, but instead, I took one giant step toward him. The whole class just howled! Does anyone remember our class trip to LeSourdsville? The first ride Emily and I rode was the tilt-a-whirl, and we both got sick. We looked green for about an hour before we finally started feeling better. The only other things I remember about the trip were riding the roller coaster and seeing a buffalo in the "western" part of the park. Roller coasters still don't impress me, but I've never forgotten that buffalo!

I remember a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo.. I bought some girl a little ring.. Not sure if it was Eileen Taulbee or Diane Haley.

Chuck, I think I remember talking to you and Denny on the bus trip to LeSourdsville, but I'm not sure about that (I remember liking Denny at the time!). Emily may remember. Emily's husband, Gary, just reminded me of the orange work boots that Mr. Gay wore with his suit. I had forgotten all about them! Anyone else remember?

I can remember everything you guys are talking about!!! I was so scared of that spooky Furnace room and we were sure ghosts lived in there or some murderer. HaHa
Those candy machines sure got a work out...I loved the potato sticks and Pretzels. A nickle sure went a long way back then...we could always turn in out bottles for 2 cents. Do you guys remember going across the streeet to the store and getting candy and junk for lunch? How about the old Duff's resturant? Loved those nasty hamburgers! The old Dairy bar was another good spot to eat...
Hey Gary....that was Mr. Smith that gave that test with the word Sex on it and Darlene couldn't stop laughing. Mr Smith knew why she was laughing, I was sitting right next to her. My mom took care of Mr and Mrs Smith's kids later and I saw them grow up. I think Mr Smith was an "Elvis wantabee....remember when he used to sing in class?
I don't know if anyone mentioned this...remember taking the wagon to the cafeteria and getting the milk for the class? It was such a big deal to get chosen for this duty.
Carol...Dianne Hailey married my brother Larry, they were not married very long, but had one son Chris(he was killed in a car accident)...not sure where she is now, my Mom did keep in touch with her sister Lisa but not anymore.
Loved this trip down memory lane, we will have to do it at the reunion!

I'm begining to think there is no way we can talk about all the memories in four hours, I sure hope you all are planning on coming to the picnic on Sunday!
Diane Highfill married my husbands nephew, Lynn Haddix. They were married long enought to have three kids ( 2 boys and 1 girl) She has been married to another guy for a long time and they live in Texas, she has 4 or 5 grandchildren.

I just saw in "The Western Star" that Mr. William Weaver, 88, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Aug. 16 at Continental Manor (an "ol' folks home") , Blanchester, Oh. Mr. Weaver was a retired teacher, and a 14-year principal of So. Lebanon Elementary School.
Do you all remember him? I think I do! I think he was there during our very early years.
