Thank you Chuck for the email and the offer of help. I think that was what got the guys to help me get started. William, age 19 , started the computer for me and pulled the site up so who knows I may make some sense soon. I miss you all and look forward to the reunion. As carol has said to me, it will be nice to get to know everyone as adults.Eileen

Hi everyone, I hadn't been on here for a day or so and this looked new. I started reading, I've been wiping tears for a while now. I'll try to clear my eyes so I can see the keyboard. It seems there were a lot of insecure kids in HS. I thought I was the only one! I was so shy that most of the classmates probably don't remember me, and the ones that did, probably didn't know I wasn't there for my senior year! That was the way I saw it. I missed a lot in HS because of my attitude! People that met me as an adult, would never believe I was ever shy! As an adult, I've done public speaking, helped coach softball ( I never could play ), taught Sunday School, and sometimes I say what is on my mind when I should just go ahead and stick my foot in my mouth to start with because that is where it will end up! To say I'm not afarid to talk, is an understatement! Bonnie, you said it all. I had tears so bad it was hard to read your statement. It was like you knew my story! I did forget to wear a bra once, and no one noticed! at 5ft. 9in. tall, I towered over everyone, weighing about 100lbs. back then, I never dreamed being over-weight would ever be a problem for me. Like you, Chuck, I'm happy with meself, but health is something I do think about ( I want to see my grand children all grown up). It is hard to find cute clothes for "fluffy" women!!!! I look back and realize that we all ( most ) had problems that we thought no body else could understand! I hope we get this crying stuff took care of before the reunion!

Oh yes, Tom, I too, am so grateful for you and your son's contribution. What is his name? If you don't mind us knowing, I'd love to add him to my prayer list. Bonnie

Sheila, it's good to hear from you again; I don't like it when one of us doesn't check in regularly. I guess it's that whole "Mom thing" still hanging on. Well, I never forgot to wear my bra, but I did forget to take off the bottoms to my shortie pajamas once. I was in the 4th or 5th grade; and just getting to the age when everything has such potential to be "life crushing". I had almost made it through the day w/o even discovering it myself, when I felt a tug at the bottom of the bloomers, which had inched down enough to be seen below the hem of my dress. I looked around to see a sheepish grin on Jimmy Schuler's bright pink face, and his hand still grasping the ruffled edge of my "drawers"! Once again, my parents made me return to school. PS Okay guys, now that my life's an open book, don't you have any little tidbits that you would like to share? Or am I really the "class klutz". Try to love me anyway, Bonnie

[/quote]Bonnie,
Since you asked I will tell some of my most embarrassing moments. It was in 8th grade and we all had to get up and make a report on something, I think it was history. I hate to speak in front of group of people and on top of that I had a cold and runny nose that day. About midway through my nasally speech a bubble of snot came out of my nose a ,small bubble that I thought would go unnoticed so I continued, but shortly after the first one , the biggest snot bubble I have ever seen, to this day, came out of my nose. I was mortified , I just started babbling I had to go back to my seat I almost cried. I think about that every time I have had to speak in front of a group. I’m scarred for life.
The next embarrassing moment I hesitate to tell, but I will anyway. It was in gym class, we had to do jumping jacks. We were counting and jumping when (okay ,excuse me but) I farted, I don’t know if any of you have farted in a gymnasium before but the sound takes on a life of its own. Again I was mortified. So, now I would like to take this time to say to anyone that was in the row behind me….sorry!
Darlene, don’t come up with any new nicknames for me…Orville is just fine……Thelma

Thelma, I am laughing so hard right now the tears are rolling. I think I'm about to wake Owen up(we don't want to do that).I was thinking maybe we could ask you to make a little speach at the reunion but maybe we'll just pass on that !! Although, I promise,Bonnie and I would be sitting there in our shortie pajama's cheering you on!

Thank you, Carol and Bonnie. Of course I don't mind giving you his name. Capt. Nathan Smith. Nathan flies with the 510th fighter squadron. F-16 pilot. He just got back home from Isreal. He was there for a few weeks flying with the Isreali pilots. He leaves in two weeks to fly in Turkey with their pilots. I say he's back home. I should clarify that. He hasn't been back here in the states for over 2 years now. He and his wife live in Eastern Italy, right at the base of the Alps, in the wine country. They're about 50 miles north of Venice. Great benefit for Kay and me. We were there in March. What a place to visit! I tried my best to sample all of the different wines, but alas, there were too many wineries. Hopefully, we will go back this fall after he and his wife become parents. But while I'm on a proud parent roll, I can not ignore the opportunity to throw in a brag or two about Sarah. She, unlike her brother (who always knew what he wanted, and how to get it), had no idea what she wanted. But! One thing I knew about her. She'd not follow in her brother's footsteps. Never be in the military. Then 911 hit! I dropped her off at the Cleveland airport one month to the day after the attacks. She had joined the Navy! Proud, yes! But this is my little girl! I sat up many nights worrying about her. Anyway, she is now out, living in Phoenix, exploring all the options that life has to offer. I am proud of both of them. They are braver than their father. Nathan will appreciate the prayers. So will his Dad.
Thanks again, Tom
