this was the most interesting thing that i have stumbled on in a long time, it is now 2010 and some thing are easier to find out (in a way) this young kid had 13 brothers and sisters if my memery of what i just read is so, has any one tried facebook to look them up? and the other boy that was with him has any one looked for him either? as far as the law suit goes i believe that that is public record, but with it being so old finding it would be a nightmare i am sure. this is a tragic story and to think it all took place in my back yard with people that my mom and dad went to school with is something else too. not tring to judge but it sounds like this poor kid had a horiblle life that ended so saddly, i hope that the family did win the law suit and were able to pick up the pieces of there lives.

Fred Collett Obituary
COLLETT, Fred lifetime resident of Lebanon, died Sept. 27 2010. His body was donated to the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. No service.
I think this may be the Fred Collett that shot Harmon Halcomb.

Harmon Halcomb was my uncle and my mom Pansie Halcomb use to tell us stories of Uncle Harmon all the time. His death devastated my mother. My mother passed away in March 2007, but she would have loved to have read all your kind and caring words. If you would like to visit Harmon's grave, he is buried in the South Lebanon Cemetery as you head out of South Lebanon towards Morrow.

I would also love for cold case to look into the case. My mother died wanting justice for Harmon. The story my mom, Pansie told me was that Harmon and a friend was skipping school to go fishing when they came across Collet and a woman in the cruiser, and it wasn't his wife, and that Collet didn't shoot up into the air with a warning shot. Collet should have lost his job and gone to prison for murder, but they covered the whole thing up. I also remember mom saying the county gave her $500.00 which wouldn't even pay for Harmon's funeral. I would love to know the truth, so please keep me informed. My email is weaverbonnie@Hotmail.com.

I, too, believe that somebody like Cold Case should look into this. I believe this is a story that would interest the public.
